

Two people have been arrested following a series of police searches in Ballymena. Officers seized suspected Class A and Class B drugs, cash, electronic devices, fireworks and suspected fake cosmetic products during searches of properties, a business premises and vehicles.
Two people have been arrested following Ballymena searches carried out by officers on Thursday, 4 June 2026.
Officers from Ballymena’s District Support Team, supported by policing colleagues, conducted searches at a number of locations across the Ballymena area.
Police said four properties, one business premises and three vehicles were searched as part of the operation.
According to police, a number of items were recovered during the operation.
These included:
Police confirmed that all items recovered during the Ballymena searches will now undergo forensic examination.
A 68-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing criminal property.
Police said he has since been bailed to allow further enquiries to continue.
A 41-year-old woman was also arrested during the operation.
She was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs and possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.
Police said she remains in custody at this time while enquiries continue.
Sergeant Armour said police will continue to proactively investigate and carry out searches linked to the drugs trade.
He said officers are working to identify those involved in bringing drugs into local communities.
Sergeant Armour added that information from the public remains crucial in helping police tackle drugs.
