

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed during an incident near Rodgers Quay in Carrickfergus on Wednesday evening. The victim suffered chest and head injuries and was taken to hospital. Detectives say the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
A police investigation is underway following a stabbing incident in Carrickfergus on Wednesday night during the popular weekly “Storming The Castle” motorcycle meet.
Detectives from the PSNI confirmed officers attended the Rodgers Quay area shortly after 7.30pm on Wednesday 27th May following reports that a man had been stabbed in the chest and also suffered injuries to his head.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment. Police say his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening at this stage.
According to detectives, the suspect fled the scene on the back of a motorbike following the altercation.

The incident happened during the weekly “Storming The Castle” bike event, which regularly attracts large crowds of bikers and spectators to Carrickfergus waterfront throughout the summer months.
Detective Inspector Lenaghan said police believe there were a large number of people in the area at the time and are urging anyone with information, photos, videos, or dashcam footage to come forward.
He added:
“Police are aware that this incident occurred at an event which takes place on a regular basis, and generally passes off peacefully with no issues.”
