Suspected Drink Driver Arrested After Van Leaves Road in Mid Ulster

Police in Mid Ulster arrested a driver on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink or drugs after a white van left the road and ended up in a ditch before 9pm. Officers have warned motorists there is zero tolerance for drink or drug driving.

Police in Mid Ulster have issued a fresh warning about drink driving in Mid Ulster after a white van left the road and ended up in a ditch.

Officers said it was not even 9pm before crews were dealing with their first suspected drink driver of the night.

The driver of the white van was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink or drugs.

Police Warn of Dangers of Drink Driving in Mid Ulster

Mid Ulster Police said the incident could easily have resulted in another death on Northern Ireland’s roads.

Police said:

“We’re lucky not to be dealing with another death on our roads this evening. Let this be a cautionary tale for anyone considering taking a similar risk.”
