

Residents across Mid and East Antrim are being encouraged to enter the Mid and East Antrim In Bloom 2026 Community Competitions. With 12 categories available and free entry for all residents, the initiative aims to boost biodiversity, improve local green spaces, and celebrate gardening efforts throughout the Borough.
Mid and East Antrim Borough Council has officially launched the Mid and East Antrim In Bloom 2026 community competitions, inviting residents to help brighten local areas while supporting biodiversity and wildlife.
The annual initiative features 12 different competition categories, with prizes available for both winners and runners-up. Entry is completely free and open to residents living across the Borough.
Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Jackson Minford, said the competitions play an important role in improving local environments while also helping the Borough maintain its strong reputation for horticultural excellence.
He said the competitions encourage residents to think about how gardens, flowers, trees and green spaces can benefit both people and wildlife.
The Mayor also encouraged those without gardens or gardening experience to nominate neighbours or friends instead.
