

Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland Major Investigation Team are continuing enquiries into the murder of Wayne Reid in Coleraine, with further searches carried out on Saturday, 24 January 2026.
Officers were seen conducting searches in the Lisnablagh Road area and surrounding parts of the town as the investigation progresses.
Mr Reid, aged 43, was pronounced dead at an address in the Society Court area of Coleraine on Monday, 12 January.
Detectives believe he was assaulted in the early hours of Saturday, 10 January, and later died as a result of injuries sustained during that attack.
Enquiries remain focused on establishing the full circumstances surrounding the assault and the movements of those involved in the hours before and after it occurred.
Detective Chief Inspector Hazel Miller said the past two weeks have been extremely difficult for Wayne Reid’s family and loved ones.
She confirmed that officers have carried out extensive door-to-door enquiries, spoken with pedestrians and local residents, and undertaken multiple searches in the area, with further search activity continuing on Saturday.
Residents can expect an ongoing police presence in the Lisnablagh Road area and surrounding streets as enquiries continue.
