Man Charged With Drugs and Weapon Offences Following Ballymena Arrests

41-year-old man has been charged with drugs and weapon offences following police arrests in Ballymena. He is due to appear before Ballymena Magistrates Court on 2 July. A second man, aged 22, has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

A man has been charged in Ballymena following police activity in the early hours of Friday 5 June 2026 linked to drugs and motoring-related offences.

Police confirmed that two men were arrested in the Ballymena area. One of the men, aged 41, has now been charged to court.

Man Charged in Ballymena Following Police Arrests

The 41-year-old man has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Class B controlled drug
  • Possession of a Class C controlled drug
  • Possession of an article with a blade or point in a public place

He is expected to appear before Ballymena Magistrates Court on 2 July 2026.

As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

Second Man Released on Bail

Police also confirmed that a second man, aged 22, was arrested after officers observed a car being driven erratically in the Antrim Road area of Ballymena.

He had been arrested on suspicion of a number of driving and drugs offences.

The 22-year-old has since been released on bail to allow further police enquiries to continue.

Police Enquiries Continue

Police have said enquiries are ongoing following the incident.

The case involving the 41-year-old will proceed through the courts, with the charges to be reviewed by prosecutors in line with standard legal procedure.
