Burke & Hare: An Evening of True Crime, Dark History and Classic Horror in Ballymena
Discover the chilling true story of Burke and Hare at a special Halloween event presented by The Fright Club NI in collaboration with Alternative Ulstours at The Braid Arts Centre in Ballymena.
Taking place on Monday 26 October, this fascinating evening combines an in-depth historical talk with a screening of the classic horror film The Flesh and the Fiends.
At 7pm, dark historian Andrew Johnston presents his acclaimed Edinburgh Festival Fringe show, exploring the Irish origins of William Burke and William Hare, their notorious murders in 1820s Edinburgh and their connections to anatomist Dr Robert Knox. The talk also examines the lives of their victims and the consequences for those involved.
Following a short interval, audiences can enjoy an 8pm screening of The Flesh and the Fiends, starring Peter Cushing, Donald Pleasence and George Rose.
Combining historical intrigue, true crime and classic cinema, this special event offers a suitably chilling start to Halloween week in Ballymena.
