Spend a full creative day surrounded by the beauty of summer at the Walled Garden with this relaxed botanical watercolour illustration workshop.

Led by local botanical artist Alison Walker, a member of the Irish Society of Botanical Artists, the workshop offers an accessible introduction to botanical drawing and painting in a beautiful heritage setting.

Throughout the day, you will learn how to observe plants closely, develop confidence in drawing, and use pencil and watercolour techniques to bring your chosen subject to life.

By the end of the workshop, you will have created your own botanical watercolour study inspired directly by the garden.

Finding the Walled Garden
Access Craigdarragh Road from the A2 Belfast–Bangor carriageway and follow signs for Helen’s Bay.

Continue along Craigdarragh Road for approximately 0.8 miles until you see the Walled Garden on your left.

Proceed towards the 30mph speed limit before the railway bridge, then turn left into the temporary driveway, which will be clearly signposted.

Follow the lane straight ahead to the car park located directly outside the Walled Garden.
