Adderstone - Changelings

Changelings – An Enchanting Evening of Music, Myth and Storytelling
Step into a world of ancient folklore, captivating music and imaginative storytelling with Changelings, a unique gig theatre production blending traditional myths, contemporary folk music, humour and personal experiences.

Performed by alt-folk musicians Cath Heinemeyer and Gemma McDermott, this atmospheric show takes audiences on a journey through song and spoken word, exploring themes of identity, belonging and the mysterious connections between people and the natural world.

At the heart of the story is a cailleach, an ageing goddess living on a windswept mountainside whose days of great power are seemingly behind her. Looking for a new purpose, she turns to kidnapping, drawing in sensitive individuals who cannot ignore her mysterious nighttime calls — the changelings.

Combining haunting melodies, imaginative characters and moments of warmth and humour, Changelings offers a thought-provoking theatrical experience inspired by ancient folklore and modern life.

Running time: Approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Age recommendation: 13 years and over. The production contains no material specifically unsuitable for younger children but is primarily aimed at adult audiences.
