Two men, aged 33 and 57, who were arrested in connection with the investigation into the attempted murder of Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell, have been released following questioning. The incident occurred on February 22nd in the Killyclogher Road area of Omagh. The Major Investigation Team detectives are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation. The detectives are also drawing attention to a reward of up to £20,000 offered by Crimestoppers, a charity that operates independently of the police, for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the attempted murder of John Caldwell.
