The man was arrested on suspicion of riot at an address in Carrickfergus on Wednesday, 10 June 2026.

Disorder Continues Across Parts Of Northern Ireland

The incident comes amid wider disorder across parts of Northern Ireland.

Police have been responding to public order incidents in several areas following the serious knife attack in north Belfast earlier this week.

Homes, businesses, vehicles and public transport have been targeted during recent disturbances.

Police Appeal For Calm

Police have appealed for calm and urged members of the public not to get involved in disorder.

The PSNI has also warned people not to share unverified images or footage online.

Members of the public are being urged to rely on verified updates and avoid sharing material that could increase fear, anger or tension.

Link To North Belfast Attempted Murder Investigation

The disorder follows a serious knife attack in the Kinnaird Avenue area of north Belfast on Monday, 8 June.

A 30-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder, possession of an article with blade or point in a public place, and threats to kill.

Police have said the victim remains in hospital.
