A new Craft to Commerce programme is set to launch in Mid and East Antrim in June 2026, offering local residents the chance to turn their crafting hobby into a real business opportunity.
The programme is aimed at hobby-craft enthusiasts who want to develop their products, build confidence, and explore whether their creative skills could become a source of income.
The Craft to Commerce programme is a four-week, flexible support service delivered through the local Labour Market Partnership.

The programme is funded by the Department for Communities through Labour Market Partnerships, which help local people prepare for and access meaningful work.
Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Councillor Jackson Minford, welcomed the launch of the initiative.
He said the programme offers local crafters the opportunity to develop their products, skills and business acumen.
He added that creativity is not a luxury, but a way people live, learn, connect with others and develop their skills.
Participants must be available one day per week throughout June 2026.
The programme will take place every Friday during June and will finish with a special showcase event on Saturday 27 June 2026.
