Three individuals were taken into custody following a severe attack in Newtownabbey.

The police are investigating an incident of serious assault that took place in the Shore Road area of Newtownabbey on February 12th. As a result of their investigation, One man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and is currently in critical condition. They arrested three men in connection with the incident.

Detective Chief Inspector Anthony Kelly stated that two men, aged 28 and 34, have been arrested on suspicion of causing severe bodily harm with intent. Meanwhile, a 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of aiding the perpetrators and concealing information regarding a crime.

All three men are currently in police custody and are cooperating with the ongoing investigation. The police are still appealing to anyone with information about the assault or who witnessed it to come forward by calling 101 and referencing case number 123 of 12/02/23.
