Police have seized suspected drugs worth around £10,000, a significant amount of cash, four cars and two motorbikes during a planned search in the Waterside area of Derry/Londonderry.

The operation was carried out by officers from the Derry City and Strabane District Support Team (DST) on Tuesday, 25 August.

Police in Derry/Londonderry have seized suspected drugs worth an estimated £10,000 following a planned search in the Waterside area.

The operation took place on Tuesday, 25 August, and was led by officers from the Derry City and Strabane District Support Team (DST).

Alongside the suspected Class B drugs, officers also seized:

• Four cars
• Two motorbikes
• A significant sum of cash

Police have not disclosed the exact amount of money seized.

Derry/Londonderry Drug Search Part of Ongoing Police Work

DST Inspector Cathal Pearce said police continue to target those involved in the sale and supply of illegal drugs across the district.

“We know the sale and supply of illicit drugs is an issue of concern, and we are working every day to remove drugs from communities and disrupt the activities of those involved in their sale and supply.”

Inspector Pearce described the planned Waterside search as another example of proactive policing aimed at tackling drug supply.

He added:

“This proactive search is another example of how we are tackling this issue and working to keep people safe.”

Police enquiries following the seizure are continuing.
