Supermarket Flowers: A tribute to the Southern Area Hospice

The Choir Studio in Newry released a song to support Southern Area Hospice. It is a beautiful rendition of Ed Sheeran and Johnny McDaid’s “Supermarket Flowers” to raise money for their Midnight Memory Walk. The song features local celebrities such as John Toal from BBC Radio Ulster, Leah O’Rourke from Derry Girls, and Ryan Cullen, as well as members of Newry City Athletic Football Club, Official Down GAA, and Armagh GAA.

The song is a moving tribute to the care that the Southern Area Hospice provides to patients and their families at the end of life. The lyrics capture the emotions of grief and loss, but also the hope and resilience that can be found in even the darkest of times.

The video for the song features personal stories from people who have been affected by the Southern Area Hospice, including those who have lost loved ones and those who have worked at the hospice. The stories are both heartbreaking and inspiring, and they serve as a reminder of the importance of the hospice’s work.

The Southern Area Hospice Memory Walk is taking place on Saturday, September 30th, 2023. The walk is a chance for people to come together to remember their loved ones and to raise money to support the hospice’s vital work.

Mark and Gareth Hughes, who feature on the song, said:

“We’re so honoured to be a part of this amazing project. The Southern Area Hospice is a vital part of our community, and we’re proud to support their work in any way we can. We hope that everyone will download the song and donate to the hospice. Even a small donation can make a big difference.”

The Southern Area Hospice is a charity that provides specialist palliative care to patients and their families in Newry, Mourne and Down. The hospice provides a range of services, including pain management, symptom relief, and emotional support. The hospice also offers bereavement support to families after the death of a loved one.

The Southern Area Hospice Memory Walk is a major fundraising event for the hospice. The walk is open to people of all ages and abilities, and it’s a great way to get involved in your community and to support a vital local charity.

I urge everyone to download the song and donate to the Southern Area Hospice. Even a small donation can make a big difference in the lives of people who are facing the end of life.
