Storming The Castle Organisers Speak Out Following Incident At Carrickfergus Bike Meet

Organisers behind the popular “Storming The Castle” motorcycle meet in Carrickfergus have issued a statement following the serious incident that took place during Wednesday night’s gathering.

The weekly bike meet, which takes place every Wednesday from 7pm at Carrickfergus Castle car park, regularly attracts bikers and spectators from across Northern Ireland.

Following reports of a stabbing at this week’s event, a statement was posted on the official Storming The Castle Facebook page by Dean Morris addressing the situation and thanking those who assisted at the scene.

In the statement, organisers said:

“First of all, we would like to thank everyone who attended the Storming the Castle bike meet tonight and for the continued support shown towards our biking community.

“Unfortunately, there was a regrettable incident during the event which in no way reflects the purpose, values, or intentions of this community meet. The safety and respect of everyone attending has always been, and will continue to be, our priority.”

The post also praised emergency responders and those who helped during the incident.

“We would like to give special thanks to the only independent motorcycle ambulance service in Northern Ireland for their rapid response and professionalism on site this evening, as well as to everyone who stepped in to help and assist during the incident.”

Organisers confirmed that there were injured parties involved and wished those affected a recovery.

“We wish all injured parties a full and speedy recovery.”

The statement concluded by saying the community would not allow one incident to define the future of the event.

“This community has been built through hard work, passion, and mutual respect, and we do not intend to let one incident destroy what so many people have worked hard to create.”

The incident sparked widespread discussion online, with many expressing shock that violence could occur at what is normally viewed as a family-friendly social gathering for motorcycle enthusiasts.

At this stage, police have not released full details surrounding the incident and there has been no official confirmation regarding the circumstances or extent of injuries.

Storming The Castle has become a well-known part of the local biking scene in Carrickfergus, particularly during the summer months, drawing large crowds to the historic waterfront setting each week.
