Police Investigate Armed Robbery in Co Antrim: Appeal for Information

Police in Co Antrim are currently investigating an armed robbery that took place at a business establishment on Woodburn Road in Carrickfergus on Friday, April 19th.

According to reports, two individuals, one armed with what appeared to be a firearm and the other wielding a knife, entered the premises at approximately 11:10 PM on Friday night. They proceeded to threaten both customers and staff before absconding with a sum of money.

Shortly after the incident, PSNI stopped a white Hyundai car on Prince Andrew Way in Carrickfergus and subsequently arrested a 30-year-old male on suspicion of robbery and possession of an offensive weapon. He is currently being held in custody.

The individual with the suspected firearm was described as wearing a light-colored tracksuit and a white puffa-style jacket, along with black trainers, a black balaclava, and gloves. The person carrying the knife was reported to be wearing a black tracksuit with a white and black balaclava, as well as black gloves.

Investigative efforts are ongoing to locate the second individual involved.
