Police ask for public’s help in North Belfast firearms case.

Police are requesting the public’s assistance in an ongoing investigation following a report of a firearms incident in the Glenrosa Link area of North Belfast on Thursday 19th January.

According to Detective Sergeant Young, at around 1am, a man was seen in the area carrying a firearm. The man is believed to have approached a residence and spoken to the male occupant inside before leaving the area with another person. There were no reports of the weapon, which is believed to be a handgun, being discharged during the incident.

The individual who was seen armed with the suspected handgun is described as being 6ft in height, slim build, and wearing a dark-colored hooded top and dark-colored bottoms. He was also reported to have been wearing a blue facemask. The second person is described as wearing a dark-colored puffa-style coat and dark-colored bottoms.

The police are continuing their investigation and are asking anyone who may have information or witnessed anything suspicious in the area to contact them on 101, quoting reference number 47 19/01/23.
