Police Appeal After Car Set On Fire In Portadown

Police are appealing for witnesses after a car was set on fire in the Fitzroy Street area of Portadown at around 1.30am on Sunday 14 June 2026. The vehicle was significantly damaged, but no injuries were reported. Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference 137 of 14/06/26.

Police Appeal Following Portadown Car Fire

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses following a report of a car on fire in Portadown in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Officers received and responded to the incident in the Fitzroy Street area at around 1.30am on Sunday 14 June 2026.

Colleagues from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service also attended the scene and dealt with the blaze.

Vehicle Significantly Damaged In Fitzroy Street Incident

Police confirmed that the fire caused significant damage to the vehicle.

Thankfully, there were no reports of any injuries following the incident.

Inspector Woods said enquiries are ongoing as police work to establish the circumstances surrounding the fire.

He said: “Our enquiries are ongoing this morning to establish the circumstances of the incident, and we are appealing to anyone who might have seen any suspicious behaviour in the area, or who has any information, to get in touch.”

Police are asking anyone who may have seen suspicious behaviour in the Fitzroy Street area to contact them.
