Motorcyclist Dies in Two-Vehicle Collision on Magheramore Road in Co Antrim

A man in his 40s died following a collision on Magheramore Road in County Antrim on Saturday, April 20, 2024. The incident involved a blue Suzuki motorcycle and a silver Volkswagen Jetta near Ballycastle, resulting in the death of 44-year-old Benny McIlhatton from Loughguile. Emergency services responded to the scene around 5:30 p.m., but sadly, McIlhatton, who was riding the motorcycle, died on-site.

Inspector Cherith Adair of the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Collision Investigation Unit stated that two other people involved in the crash were taken to the hospital for treatment. The road, which was closed for several hours, has since been reopened.

The police are conducting a full investigation and are seeking witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to assist with their inquiries. They encourage anyone with information to contact the Collision Investigation Unit at Sprucefield at 101, quoting reference number 1270 20/04/24.
