Mid and East Antrim Borough Council has launched a streamlined online waste dashboard to make it easier for residents to manage household waste services.

Residents can use the service to:

• Check their bin collection information
• Report a missed bin collection
• Check for waste service changes
• Access waste and recycling information online

New Online Waste Dashboard Aims to Make Bin Services Easier

Mid and East Antrim Borough Council has introduced an online waste dashboard designed to make waste and recycling services easier for residents to access.

The system allows households across Ballymena, Carrickfergus, Larne and the wider Mid and East Antrim area to check information about their bin collections from home.

Residents can also use the dashboard to report a missed collection and check for changes affecting their service.

Residents Can Check Bin Collections Online

The council says the streamlined service has been designed around the needs of residents.

Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Alderman Thomas Gordon, welcomed the introduction of the service.

He said:

“Our streamlined waste and recycling dashboard allows residents to keep up to date with their household waste collection service while supporting our wider sustainability targets.”

The Mayor said the platform would also help residents receive information about changes to waste services more quickly.

“Designed with resident users in mind, the system offers a convenient platform to stay informed about waste collection services and report missed bin collections.”

He added that residents would be able to find out about service changes in real time.

What Can You Do Through the Waste Dashboard?

Residents can use the Mid and East Antrim online waste dashboard for some of the most common household waste enquiries.

These include:

• Checking household bin collection information
• Reporting a missed bin collection
• Checking for changes to collection services

Other council waste services remain available separately for residents who require additional support.

These include:

• Bulky waste collections
• Eco Rangers collections
• Replacement bins
• Support requests through elected representatives
• Missed trade waste collections

Council Investing in New Bin Lorries

The online waste dashboard forms part of wider investment in Mid and East Antrim’s waste and recycling services.

The council previously confirmed plans to modernise its refuse collection vehicle fleet.

The investment includes 32 new vehicles, with different vehicles being used depending on the type of collection route.

The planned fleet includes:

• 16-tonne vehicles for rural routes
• 26-tonne vehicles for urban routes

The new vehicles will operate across Ballymena, Carrickfergus and Larne.

According to the council, the investment is intended to improve efficiency and sustainability while maintaining frontline waste collection services.

Council Says Waste Services Remain a Priority

Alderman Gordon said keeping the borough clean while improving efficiency and sustainability remained a council priority.

He said:

“Keeping Mid and East Antrim clean in an efficient, sustainable way is one of our top priorities.”

He added that investment in both online and physical services would help residents access waste and recycling information more easily.
