Man Sadly Dies Following Collision Near Cushendall

A 55-year-old motorcyclist from the Bellaghy area has sadly died following a two-vehicle collision on Chapel Road near Cushendall. Police are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage.

A man has sadly died following a collision near Cushendall on Sunday, 28 June 2026.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland confirmed that the serious road traffic collision happened on Chapel Road shortly before 1pm.

Motorcyclist Dies Following Collision Near Cushendall

Detective Inspector Stewart, from the PSNI Collision Investigation Unit, said police received and responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Chapel Road.

Emergency services also attended the scene.

Sadly, the male rider of a motorcycle died at the scene. Police confirmed he was 55 years old and from the Bellaghy area.

Chapel Road Reopens After Collision

Chapel Road was closed in both directions while police carried out enquiries at the scene.

The road has since reopened to motorists.

Police Appeal For Witnesses And Dash-Cam Footage

Police enquiries remain ongoing.

Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone who may have dash-cam footage, to come forward.
