Man Charged With Attempted Murder Following North Belfast Knife Attack

A 30-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a knife attack in the Kinnaird Avenue area of north Belfast on Monday 8 June 2026. He is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 10 June.

Man Charged After North Belfast Knife Attack

Detectives investigating a north Belfast knife attack have charged a 30-year-old man to court.

The incident happened in the Kinnaird Avenue area of north Belfast on Monday 8 June 2026.

Police confirmed the man has been charged with:

  • Attempted murder
  • Possession of an article with blade or point in a public place
  • Threats to kill

He is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 10 June 2026.

Court Appearance Due On Wednesday

The man is expected to appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

At this stage, the charges remain allegations and the court process must be allowed to take its course.

The update follows the serious incident in north Belfast on Monday evening.

Police have previously appealed for anyone with information, footage, or dashcam material relating to the incident to contact them.
