A 75-year-old man was assaulted after reportedly confronting two men at a campervan on his property in Greenisland. The vehicle was damaged and items were stolen. One man has been arrested, while police are seeking a second man and appealing for CCTV and dashcam footage.
A 75-year-old pensioner was assaulted in Greenisland, County Antrim, after reportedly confronting two men who had gained access to the pensioners campervan at his property.
Officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) were called to the area at approximately 12.20pm on Thursday 8 October 2026.
The incident also involved criminal damage to the campervan and the theft of items from the vehicle.
One man has been arrested in connection with the incident, while a second man remains at large.
The two men allegedly gained access to a campervan situated at the pensioner’s property.
When the 75-year-old confronted them, he was assaulted.
The campervan sustained criminal damage, and items were stolen from inside. Details of the stolen property have not been disclosed.
The pensioner was taken to hospital for treatment following the attack but was later discharged.
Police arrested one man in connection with the incident.
However, a second man has not been apprehended, and officers are appealing for information that could help establish his whereabouts.

Police are urging residents and motorists in Greenisland to check their CCTV and dashcam recordings for footage that could assist the investigation.
