Theatre in the Park: The Three Musketeers

Award-winning outdoor theatre company Illyria is coming to Mid and East Antrim this summer with an action-packed production of The Three Musketeers at Shaftesbury Park.

Packed with sword fights, comedy, romance and adventure, this open-air performance brings Alexandre Dumas’s classic story to life for audiences of all ages.

All for One – and One for All!
Young D’Artagnan dreams of joining Athos, Porthos and Aramis as an elite Musketeer of the King’s Guard.

Determined to prove himself, he is plunged into a thrilling adventure involving the Queen’s missing jewels, the scheming Cardinal Richelieu and the dangerous Milady de Winter.

Set against the backdrop of 17th-century France, Illyria’s production combines swashbuckling action, broad comedy and imaginative storytelling.

Expect intrigue, betrayal, revenge, romance and plenty of excitement in this lively outdoor adaptation of The Three Musketeers.

Enjoy an Evening of Outdoor Theatre
Audience members are encouraged to bring a picnic and enjoy a relaxed evening of outdoor entertainment.

Gates open at 6pm, with live music from the talented CWA Brass before the performance begins at 7pm.

Seating is not provided, so visitors should bring their own picnic rug, blanket or low-backed chair.

Running time: Approximately 135 minutes, including a 20-minute interval

Tickets
Tickets cost £5.45, plus a 50p booking fee per ticket.

Everyone attending the performance, including children of all ages, must have their own ticket.

Age Guidance
The production is recommended for children aged eight and over, although younger children are welcome to attend if they are feeling brave enough.

The play contains scenes of peril, politics and passion.

Accessibility and Parking
Blue Badge parking spaces are available in St Bride’s Car Park, located beside Shaftesbury Park.

Vehicles are not permitted to park inside Shaftesbury Park.

The venue is wheelchair accessible. However, the performance takes place on grass, which may be uneven or muddy during or after wet weather.

Weather Information
The outdoor performance will go ahead in most weather conditions.

Visitors should check the forecast before travelling and wear suitable clothing and footwear for the conditions.

Dogs
Assistance and guide dogs are permitted.

Well-behaved dogs are also welcome but must remain on a lead throughout the event.
