Swift & Gulliver: A 300-Year Legacy – Special Launch Event in Carrickfergus
Celebrate 300 years of one of literature's most famous adventures at Swift & Gulliver: A 300-Year Legacy, a special launch event marking the anniversary of Jonathan Swift's celebrated novel, Gulliver's Travels, first published in 1726.
This free event officially opens a month-long programme of activities exploring the life, work and lasting influence of Jonathan Swift, alongside a special exhibition and the Land of the Giants experience.
Guests will enjoy a fascinating talk by prominent Jonathan Swift scholar Dr Brendan Twomey, who will explore the writer's life, the historical period in which he lived and the literary legacy of his famous novel.
The evening also marks the official opening of the exhibition, offering visitors an opportunity to discover more about Swift's imaginative world and the enduring appeal of Gulliver's Travels.
A wine reception is included, providing an opportunity to enjoy the celebrations and mark this important literary anniversary.
