Beyond – Exhibition by Douglas Hutton at Enniskillen Castle
Beyond is a striking exhibition of recent paintings by acclaimed Fermanagh-based artist Douglas Hutton, showcasing bold, expressive works created primarily in oil.

Through rich layers of colour and texture, Hutton’s paintings capture fleeting moments while suggesting something that lies just “beyond” the immediately visible.

The exhibition features works spanning seascapes, still life and portraiture, with many pieces inspired by words and poetry.

Douglas Hutton describes his approach:

“My aims in painting are to capture a moment; to express an idea and to establish a visual dialogue. The pieces are supported and inspired by words and poetry.”

The resulting works are colourful, richly textured and visually powerful, offering visitors an opportunity to experience the distinctive style of one of Fermanagh’s established artists.
