Ballymena 400 Summer Celebrations and Family Fun Days
Ballymena is celebrating an incredible milestone in 2026 as the town marks its 400th anniversary with a summer programme packed with family entertainment, activities, surprises and special events.

Residents and visitors are invited to explore Ballymena town centre, support local businesses and take part in a memorable celebration of 400 years of the town.

Whether you live locally, regularly visit Ballymena or are planning a family day out, there will be plenty happening throughout July and August.

Super Fun Fridays in Ballymena
Dates: Friday 24 July and Friday 31 July
Time: 11am–2pm

Ballymena’s popular Summer Fun Days are returning with a superhero-inspired upgrade for the town’s 400th anniversary celebrations.

Visitors can enjoy family favourites including giant games, face painting and appearances from special guest characters. This year’s programme will also feature giant inflatable games and a number of surprise activities.

Friday 24 July
Meet a selection of furry animals at the petting farm and enjoy appearances from special guests Leo, Stitch and Angel.

Friday 31 July
Get ready to dance at the Silent Disco before welcoming back the Minions for an afternoon of family fun and entertainment.

Ballymena Adventure Quests

Families can also take part in Ballymena’s Adventure Quests on Friday 7 and Friday 14 August.

Participants should register at Wellington Court between 11am and 1pm before setting out on their adventure around the town centre.
