On Tuesday evening, an armed robbery occurred at a shop in Bridewell Drive, Carrickfergus. According to reports, the perpetrator, who was wearing a mask and armed with a knife, entered the store at around 8:30 PM and demanded money and tobacco from the employees. The staff members handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and tobacco, after which the assailant fled the scene on foot. No injuries were reported, but the two employees were left shaken by the incident.
The police are currently investigating the matter and are asking for anyone who witnessed suspicious activity or captured dash cam footage in the Bridewell Drive area around the time of the robbery to contact them at the Ballymena station on 101, referencing reference number 1750 03/01/23.
