Families across Mid and East Antrim can look forward to a packed programme of Halloween events in 2026, with celebrations planned in Carrickfergus, Ballymena and Larne.

Highlights include the Halloween Hooley at Larne Town Park, Hallowena at People’s Park in Ballymena and CarrickFEARgus at Shaftesbury Park.

Halloween Events Across Mid and East Antrim

From Thursday 29 October to Saturday 31 October 2026, parks across the borough will be transformed for three major Halloween celebrations.

Visitors can expect:

• Spooky walkabout characters
• Fire displays
• Music and entertainment
• Messy play

• Halloween discos

The borough’s Halloween celebrations begin in Larne with the Halloween Hooley at Larne Town Park on Thursday 29 October.

Families can expect an evening filled with Halloween entertainment, performances and activities.

The event is also expected to finish with a fireworks display, weather permitting.

Spooky Carnival in Larne Town Centre

Halloween celebrations will begin earlier in the day with the return of The Spooky Carnival.

The event takes place in Larne town centre from 1pm until 3pm on Thursday 29 October.

Hallowena Returns to Ballymena

Ballymena’s main celebration will be Hallowena at People’s Park on Friday 30 October.

The ticketed event will feature Halloween-themed entertainment and activities, followed by a fireworks display if weather conditions allow.

However, the Halloween fun will not be restricted to People’s Park.

Ballymena Town Centre Halloween Activities

A programme of Halloween entertainment is planned across Ballymena town centre during Friday 30 October.

Activities include play buses at Wellington Street from 12 noon until 4pm.

A Haunted Harvest Treat Trail will also start from the Tower Centre between 12 noon and 2pm.

Families can expect face painting and other entertainment throughout the town.

There will also be a Fancy-Dress Competition at Fairhill between 2pm and 4pm.

These activities will lead into the evening Hallowena celebrations at People’s Park.

CarrickFEARgus Returns for Halloween 2026

Carrickfergus will round off the borough’s major Halloween celebrations with CarrickFEARgus at Shaftesbury Park on Saturday 31 October.

Carrickfergus Spooky Silent Disco

The Halloween programme in Carrickfergus actually begins a day earlier.

A free spooky silent disco will take place at Carrickfergus Town Hall on Friday 30 October from 12 noon until 4pm.

A relaxed session will run between 12 noon and 1pm for visitors who prefer a quieter experience.

Mystery of the Missing Pumpkin Treasure Trail

Also taking place in Carrickfergus on Friday 30 October is The Mystery of the Missing Pumpkin.

The Halloween treasure trail will run from 12 noon until 4pm, with the final start time at 3pm.

Young witches, wizards and ghouls will be challenged to follow the clues and solve the mystery.

Tickets for CarrickFEARgus and Hallowena are:

• Free for children under 12, although a ticket must still be booked
• £2.25 for everyone aged 12 and over
