Belfast Bank of Ideas Voting Day Takes Place At City Hall This Sunday

Belfast Residents Invited To Vote For Creative Summer Projects

Belfast residents are being encouraged to help shape a summer of creativity by voting in the Belfast Bank of Ideas at City Hall.

The free voting day takes place on Sunday 10 May, from 2pm to 5pm, and gives local people the chance to support community-led ideas they would like to see happen across Belfast between June and September.

Over 110 Creative Ideas Submitted

More than 110 applications have been submitted by individuals, schools and community groups.

Many of the ideas are connected to this summer’s Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, which takes place from 2 to 9 August.

Ideas include:

  • Ceilís in care homes
  • Community-led bodhrán building
  • Guided nature walks
  • Family crests created with Braille
  • A rock music school

Each idea will be presented at a market-style voting event, where groups will showcase their plans and encourage visitors to cast their vote.

Belfast Bank Of Ideas Funding

Projects that receive the most votes, with a minimum of 35 votes, will share in £87,500 of funding.

Successful ideas can receive up to £2,500 each to help bring their projects to life.
