

A man was taken to hospital after being struck by a car near the ASDA store in Bangor city centre on Saturday afternoon. Police have appealed for witnesses and anyone with dash-cam footage to come forward.
A pedestrian has been injured in a collision at Bangor ASDA after being struck by a car in the Market Square area of the city.
Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 12.50pm on Saturday, 22 August 2026.
The male pedestrian was subsequently transferred into the care of the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service for treatment.
Officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland attended the scene alongside crews from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service.
Part of the road around Market Square was closed while emergency crews dealt with the collision.
The road has since reopened.
Police have not provided further information about the extent of the man’s injuries at this stage.
Belfast live reported a PSNI spokesperson said to officers are investigating the collision involving a car and a pedestrian.
