Woman dies following collision on Drumrane Road in Limavady

A woman in her 50s has sadly died following a collision on Drumrane Road in Limavady on Sunday, 16 August.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland confirmed the death on Monday morning as enquiries into the circumstances of the collision continued.

Police investigate Limavady collision

Police received a report at around 2.50pm of a collision involving a pedestrian and a car in the Drumrane Road area.

Officers attended alongside colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, and medical treatment was provided at the scene.

However, police confirmed that the woman died from her injuries a short time later.

The Drumrane Road was closed following the incident but has since reopened.

Appeal for witnesses after Drumrane Road collision

Detective Inspector Stewart, from the Police Service’s Collision Investigation Unit, said enquiries remain ongoing.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.

They are particularly interested in hearing from motorists or members of the public who may have dash-cam, CCTV or other video footage from the area around the time of the collision.
