10am – Welcome at HomePlace Café
Begin your day with a warm welcome, including tea or coffee and a homemade scone in the HomePlace Café.

10.30am–12 noon – HomePlace Exhibition
Explore the award-winning Seamus Heaney exhibition, guided by the poet’s own voice.

The exhibition offers an intimate insight into his life, work, influences and connection to the people and places of his home area.

12 noon – Picnic Box
Collect a prepared picnic box to enjoy during the next part of your journey.

Afternoon – Open Ground Trail
Continue your experience with a self-guided Open Ground trail visiting five locations that influenced Seamus Heaney’s life, poetry and enduring legacy.

Take your time, travel at your own pace and discover the landscapes that helped shape some of his most celebrated writing.
