Erratic Driving Report Leads To £130,000 Drugs Seizure In Maghera

Police in Mid Ulster have seized suspected drugs worth more than £130,000 following enquiries at a residential property in the Maghera area. Officers discovered a cannabis grow, suspected herbal cannabis, cannabis edibles, cash and two air weapons. Two men were arrested and enquiries are ongoing.

Police Seize Suspected Drugs Worth Over £130,000 In Maghera

Police in Mid Ulster have seized suspected drugs worth more than £130,000 after following up on a report of erratic driving in the Maghera area.

Officers attended a residential property on Saturday after a complaint was made about a vehicle reportedly being driven erratically before being parked in a driveway.

While carrying out enquiries at the property, police discovered a cannabis grow inside a garage. Officers also found that the grow was being powered by an electricity bypass.

Cannabis Grow, Edibles, Cash And Air Weapons Seized

During the search, police located and seized a significant quantity of suspected herbal cannabis.

Suspected cannabis edibles were also recovered from the property.

Early estimates suggest the street value of the suspected drugs is more than £130,000.

Police also seized:

• A substantial amount of cash
• Two air weapons
• Suspected herbal cannabis
• Suspected cannabis edibles
• Equipment linked to a cannabis grow

Two Men Arrested In Connection With Drug Supply Offences

Two men were arrested at the scene in relation to a number of suspected offences linked to drug supply.

Police said an investigation is now underway, with enquiries continuing into the discovery.

The seizure forms part of ongoing work by Mid Ulster Police to disrupt the supply of illegal drugs across the district.

Police said tackling drug supply remains a key policing priority in Mid Ulster.

They also urged anyone with concerns about suspicious activity at a property in their area to come forward.
