PSNI: 19 Arrests Made Following Recent Disorder Across Northern Ireland

Police have confirmed that 19 arrests have been made following recent disorder across Northern Ireland. Twelve people have been charged and remanded in custody. Assistant Chief Constable Ryan Henderson has warned that further arrests will follow as police continue to investigate disorder, racially motivated attacks and hate-related social media posts.

PSNI Confirms Arrests Following Recent Disorder

The Police Service of Northern Ireland has confirmed that 19 arrests have now been made following recent disorder across Northern Ireland.

Assistant Chief Constable Ryan Henderson said the Public Order Enquiry Team has been working to identify and arrest those involved in the incidents seen over recent days.

According to police, 21 suspects have been identified so far. Of those, 19 have been arrested, 12 people have been charged to appear at court, and all 12 have been remanded in custody.

Further Arrests Expected As Investigation Continues

ACC Henderson said:

“Let this serve as a warning to those who have taken part in the shameful scenes we have seen over the last few days. Further arrests will be made as we continue to release images of individuals we want to identify, as we strive to deliver justice for those who have been affected by the disorder, racially-motivated attacks and hate-filled social media posts.”

Police say images of people they would like to speak to in connection with the disorder are being released regularly through Op Exposure.

Police Appeal For Calm Ahead Of Weekend

ACC Henderson also repeated his appeal for calm over the weekend.

He said:

“I re-iterate my call for calm over the weekend ahead and ask that anyone involved in protests does so peacefully.”

Police have asked anyone involved in protests to do so lawfully and peacefully.

Anyone with footage linked to the disorder is being asked to share it with police.

This includes:

  • CCTV footage
  • Mobile phone footage
  • Dashcam footage
  • Doorbell camera footage
  • Any other relevant video or images

Public Order Enquiry Team Continues Work

The Public Order Enquiry Team continues to review footage and gather evidence connected to disorder, racially motivated attacks and hate-related online posts.

Police say further arrests will be made as enquiries continue.
