

Police are appealing for information after a pipe bomb exploded at a home in Rectory Gardens, Broughshane, on Wednesday night. Three people were inside at the time, but thankfully no injuries were reported.
Detectives are appealing for information after a pipe bomb in Broughshane caused extensive damage to a home in the Rectory Gardens area.
The incident happened at around 11pm on Wednesday 27 May 2026.
According to police, it was reported that two men dressed in dark clothing placed a pipe bomb on the living room window ledge of the property.
Three people were inside the home at the time.
The device exploded, causing extensive damage to the windows and living room of the house. Thankfully, the residents were not injured.
Detective Sergeant Crothers said the two men left the scene in a dark-coloured hatchback car.
The vehicle reportedly made off in the direction of Ballymena.
Police officers and Ammunition Technical Officers attended the scene. Cordons remained in place on Thursday morning while enquiries continued.
