Emergency services were deployed to a “concern for safety” incident on the outskirts of Carrickfergus on Monday afternoon.
The incident occurred at approximately 2pm along Fort Road, Kilroot, prompting a significant multi-agency response.

Witnesses reported to the Belfast Telegraph that armed response vehicles were used to bring a van to a controlled stop. Following this, officers were able to safely resolve the situation.
Fire extinguishers from police vehicles were seen scattered across nearby grass, indicating efforts to manage potential risk during the operation.
