Five Arrested After Woman Stabbed With Screwdriver

Woman Stabbed During Sustained Violence in Dungannon

Police have confirmed that five arrests were made after sustained violence in Dungannon on Sunday, 14th September 2025.

The incident broke out in the Oaks Avenue area just after 2.25pm, when several reports were made about people fighting with weapons.

Four people were taken to hospital for treatment, including a woman who was stabbed in the head with a screwdriver. Thankfully, none of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening at this time.


Arrests Made

Detective Inspector Ryan said:

  • A 35-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.
  • A 33-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
  • A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and a number of driving offences.
  • Two further arrests were made at the scene for offences unrelated to the violence.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Footage

Police have confirmed an increased presence in the area as investigations continue.

Detective Inspector Ryan described the violence as a “terrifying experience for neighbours and witnesses.”

Officers are particularly appealing for:

  • Mobile phone video
  • Dashcam footage
  • Any other recordings of the incident
