Detective Inspector Stewart, from the Collision Investigation Unit, said police received a report of the collision shortly after 2.30pm on Tuesday 24 March 2026. The collision took place in the Ardoyne Avenue area of north Belfast and involved a female pedestrian and a lorry.
Emergency services attended the scene, but the woman sadly died there. The road was closed to traffic for a period of time following the incident, although it has since reopened.
Police enquiries are continuing following the North Belfast collision. Detectives are asking anyone who witnessed the incident, or anyone who may have relevant digital footage, to get in touch.
The PSNI has asked anyone with information to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference number 801 of 24/03/26.

He confirmed the woman was pronounced deceased at the scene and said enquiries are ongoing.
