A tragic incident occurred in Co Tyrone where the body of a young man was recovered from a lake on Sunday. The man, believed to be in his early 20s, entered the water in the Carricklongfield Road area of Aughnacloy shortly after 11pm on Saturday and encountered difficulties.

Efforts to locate the man involved the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), Fire Service personnel, and Community Search and Rescue volunteers. The coordinated search led to the recovery of his body the following day.

A PSNI spokesperson stated: “Police will make enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the death and a post-mortem will take place in due course; however, at present the death is not believed to be suspicious.”

Further updates are expected as investigations continue into this unfortunate event.
