

Three people have been arrested after police in Derry City & Strabane seized suspected Class A drugs with an estimated street value of £25,000 following a vehicle stop in Magheramason. All suspects remain in custody while enquiries continue.
Police in Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) have arrested three people and seized suspected Class A drugs with an estimated street value of £25,000 following an incident in Derry City & Strabane.
The arrests were made on the evening of Thursday, 5 February, after officers on patrol in the Victoria Road area of Magheramason observed a vehicle overtaking other cars in a manner that caused concern.
Local Policing Team officers activated blue lights and sirens to stop the vehicle, which pulled over in Magheramason.
When officers approached the car, they detected a strong smell of suspected cannabis coming from inside. Following further checks, police seized a quantity of suspected Class A controlled drugs.
All three occupants of the vehicle were arrested on suspicion of drugs and driving-related offences:

All three remain in police custody at this time as enquiries continue.
Sergeant Moore said the arrests were the result of joint efforts between Local Policing Team officers and District Support Team colleagues.
He added that police continue to work daily to tackle the supply and use of illegal drugs, which cause significant harm and misery within local communities.
