Thirteen Lambs Killed in Rostrevor as Police Launch Appeal

Police are appealing for information after thirteen lambs were killed at a farm on Drumsesk Road in Rostrevor. The incident happened sometime between 7pm on Friday, 13 March 2026 and 7.45am on Saturday, 14 March 2026. Officers say the lambs’ necks appear to have been deliberately broken. Police have launched an appeal after thirteen lambs were killed in Rostrevor in what officers have described as a shocking incident.

The animals were found dead at a farm on Drumsesk Road, with police now investigating exactly what happened and who may be responsible.

According to police, the report was received after the lambs were discovered dead at the farm.

Inspector Reynolds said officers believe the incident happened between 7pm on Friday, 13 March 2026 and 7.45am on Saturday, 14 March 2026.

Police say it appears the lambs’ necks had been deliberately broken.

Inspector Reynolds said:

We received a report that the lambs had been killed at a farm on Drumsesk Road at some point between 7pm on Friday, 13th March and 7.45am on Saturday, 14th March.

It appears that their necks had been deliberately broken.

This is a shocking crime, and we would be keen to hear from anyone who noticed anything unusual in the area during the times above.”

Enquiries are continuing into the Rostrevor lamb killings, and officers are urging anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area to come forward.
