A third child has tragically died following Monday’s knife attack at a Taylor Swift-themed holiday club in Southport, Merseyside Police have confirmed. The nine-year-old girl succumbed to her injuries in hospital on Tuesday morning.

The force had earlier confirmed the deaths of two other girls, aged six and seven, on Monday evening.

In addition to these three fatalities, five other children and two adults injured in the incident on Hart Street on Monday morning remain in critical condition in hospital, according to a statement released on Tuesday afternoon. The exact conditions of three other children injured are currently unknown, but they are all receiving treatment in hospitals across Liverpool and Manchester.

One of the adults injured, 63-year-old businessman John Hayes, was reportedly stabbed in the leg while trying to disarm the attacker, his wife Helen told Sky News.

A 17-year-old boy from Banks, Lancashire, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. Police have cordoned off an area in the village, which is just outside Southport, as part of their ongoing investigation.

Taylor Swift expressed her distress on Instagram, stating she is “completely in shock” and that the “horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is washing over me continuously”.

6. Check the Roasted Vegetables: By this point, the pumpkin and sweet potato should be soft and well-roasted. If not, don’t worry; oven times can vary. If they are soft, proceed to the next step.

7. Blend the Soup: Add the roasted pumpkin and sweet potato to the pot with the sauce. Stir them in and cook until everything is soft and well combined. You can use a hand blender or a food processor to blend the mixture until it’s smooth.

8. Season to Taste: Return the soup to the heat and season with salt and pepper to taste.

9. Serve and Garnish: Ladle the creamy soup into large bowls. For a burst of flavour and aroma, add the picked rosemary on top. Finish the dish by sprinkling Parmesan cheese on the soup.

10. Optional Croutons: If you prefer, serve the soup with crispy croutons on the side. This is a matter of personal preference, so feel free to skip them if you like.

11. Enjoy: Sit back, savour the delicious flavours, and enjoy this creamy turmeric pumpkin and sweet potato soup. It’s a wholesome and satisfying meal perfect for any autumn day.
