Extradited Suspect to Stand Trial for Serious Offences in Northern Ireland

A 40-year-old man has been returned to Northern Ireland from Germany to face serious charges related to human trafficking and transferring criminal property.

The man was arrested in Forstinning, Germany, on 12 May 2025 following the issue of an extradition warrant. He was under investigation by the PSNI Human Trafficking Unit for offences believed to have taken place in October 2017.

Following successful extradition proceedings led by officers from the PSNI International Policing Team, the suspect arrived back in Northern Ireland on Tuesday 24 June, and is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday 25 June).

PSNI Commits to Global Policing Cooperation

Constable Willie Dynes of the PSNI International Policing Unit commented:

“We continue to work closely with our international law enforcement partners around the world to bring offenders to justice.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland is committed to fighting crime, and this extradition delivers on our assurance of the relentless pursuit of perpetrators and supporting victims.”

This development highlights the continued global cooperation between police services in tackling organised crime and human trafficking.
