This project aims to establish a fully accessible and inclusive play environment, offering an exciting and adventurous space for children and families within the community to enjoy.

The refurbishment will introduce new play equipment, including swings, a two-tower play unit with fireman’s pole, climbing net, monkey bar, slide, balance ropes and twisted climbing net, as well as enhanced safety surfacing.

Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Alderman Beth Adger MBE, commented: “The partial refurbishment of Knockan Road play park demonstrates Council’s dedication to fostering a vibrant and inclusive community space. We believe every child should have a place to explore, play, and create lasting memories. This park will remain a fun and adventurous spot for children of all abilities.”

This work is part of Council’s broader Play Investment Framework and Out to Play Strategy. These initiatives reflect MEABC’s continued commitment to fostering the importance of play across the Borough.
