Arrest Made After £300k Drugs Seizure at Belfast City Airport

£300k Drugs Seized at Belfast City Airport

Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s (PSNI) Organised Crime Branch have arrested a 36-year-old man at Belfast City Airport following the seizure of suspected Class B drugs worth an estimated £300,000.

The arrest, carried out on Wednesday 24th September, was supported by partners from the Organised Crime Task Force. The drugs were found in luggage belonging to the man, who had arrived on a connecting international flight.

Arrest and Charges

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of:

• Possession of Class B controlled drugs
• Possession with intent to supply
• Importation of Class B controlled drugs

He remains in custody at this time as investigations continue.

Police have confirmed the seizure and arrest form part of a multi-agency approach to tackling organised crime and drug-related activity across Northern Ireland.
