Appeal for information following aggravated burglary in Newry.

Detectives are appealing for information following the report of an aggravated burglary at a property on the Belfast Road, Newry in the early hours of this morning, Saturday 27th January.

Detective Sergeant Lewis said: “At approximately 1.50am, it was reported that approximately 3 or 4 masked and armed men, one believed to be carrying a shotgun, entered the house and threatened the residents.

“The men ransacked the house before making off with a quantity of cash in the direction of the A1.

“The residents were uninjured however damage was caused to a window and items of furniture.

“Enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing to anyone who may have any information or CCTV, doorbell or other footage that could assist with the investigation, to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference 143 27/01/24.”
