From Locks to Love: 9 Year Old Quinn's Inspiring Fundraising

In Carrickfergus, a young girl is capturing the community’s attention with her selfless act of kindness. Quinn, a 9-year-old student at Woodburn Primary School, has not only donated her hair to the Little Princess Trust but has also taken her generosity a step further by raising funds to support the creation of wigs for those in need.

Quinn’s inspiring journey began when her cousin, Hannah, donated her hair to the same charity a few years ago. Quinn’s mother shared that Paula, who is the mum’s cousin, suggested to her that Quinn could do the same. With a desire to make a difference, Quinn embraced the idea, and from there, her mission to help others began to snowball.

Quinn’s goal was to donate her hair. However, once she discovered the substantial cost of £700 to create each wig, Quinn decided to turn her goodwill into a fundraising initiative. Her mother, who works for a bank, shared that the community response has been overwhelming, with Quinn’s friends and schoolmates showing tremendous support.

Quinn’s mother expressed her pride in both Quinn and her older brother, Caleb, for their compassion and sense of community. The family’s commitment to making a positive impact is truly commendable.

To make her fundraising efforts official, Quinn set up a GoFundMe page, where the community could contribute to her cause. The response has been nothing short of remarkable, with Quinn surpassing the £500 mark in just a few days. What’s even more impressive is that Quinn’s mums workplace matched the funding for charities, contributing an additional £500. This means that, in total, Quinn has raised over £1000, a testament to the power of a small community coming together for a great cause.

Quinn’s GoFundMe page, which can be found here https://www.gofundme.com/f/quinn-raise-money-for-the-little-princess-trust , has become a focal point for the community’s generosity. Her school has also joined in, sharing the page and spreading the word about Quinn’s incredible initiative.
