Elderly Woman Dies Following Collision in Newtownabbey

Antrim and Newtownabbey authorities have confirmed the tragic death of an elderly woman following a road collision on the Doagh Road, Newtownabbey, on Monday, January 13.

The incident, which occurred shortly before 6:15 pm, involved a grey Seat Ateca and a pedestrian. Inspector Cherith Adair of the Police Service’s Collision Investigation Unit stated that officers responded promptly to the scene. The pedestrian, a woman in her 80s, was taken to the hospital but sadly succumbed to her injuries.

Detectives from the Collision Investigation Unit have launched an investigation and are appealing for information. They urge anyone who witnessed the collision or has footage that could assist with their inquiries to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference 1306 of 13/01/25.

Authorities extend their condolences to the victim’s family and continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
